Conservatory Roman Blinds
Roman blinds are a popular style for consevatories. with the simple, clean lines and especially the fact that they can be made at home. Roman styled blinds are commonly used for the roofs of conservatories.
The huge range of colours and designs for Roman Blinds allow you to craft an atmosphere to your taste. The only problem is that the blinds absorb all of the heat from the sun that passes through the windows. This heat is then trapped under the double glazing which modern conservatories use. This can make the conservatory unbearably hot.
Even the close fitting blinds still create this hot pocket of air between themselves and the glass. This heat is then radiated at a constant rate, even after the sun has gone down.
The other problem with conservatory Roman blinds is that they trap dust. Blinds fitted to conservatory roofs are especially bad for this, dust particles buoyed up on hot air cling to the fabric. The other problem is that, when fitted to the frames of the conservatory roof, you can't get in to clean. Bad news for anyone with allergies. Bad news for anyone who wants their conservatory to form a showpiece within their home.
Rather than making your conservatory unbearably hot, you can get all of the benefits of blinds with solar window film. Blinds can still be fitted for decorative purposes, while being protected from the UV light by the window film.
